Twilight's Author Gets Another Movie Made

Stephenie Meyer has written other things besides the Twilight Saga. Well, actually, only one other thing, and it sure didn't take long for someone to swoop in and snag the movie rights to it.

Stephenie's adult novel, The Host, was picked up by producers Nick Wechsler, Steve and Paula Mae Schwartz and will be written/ directed by The Truman Show screenwriter Andrew Niccol.

The Host is described as:

"…a love story set in the near future on Earth, which has been assimilated by an alien species that call themselves “Souls.” They are benevolent parasites that subsume the conscious of humans and take possession of their bodies. One such soul, The Wanderer (so named because she has wandered among so many different worlds) is fused with a dying human named Melanie Stryder, in an attempt to locate the last pocket of surviving humans on Earth. The Wanderer cannot subsume the forceful Melanie, and they battle for the girl’s memories and her spirit."

That sounds a little freakier than Twilight to us. We don't know if we're down for that.

Lindsay Lohan's sometimes girlfriend, saMANtha Ronson, got herself a sweet deejay gig - on the CW's 90210!

On November 3rd, saMAN will be appearing as herself and will be guest starring alongside Pharrell and his group, N.E.R.D. Her storyline involves giving some romantic advice to character Navid, played by Michael Steger.

We think you should find a better source, Navid!

And, uh, LiLo? Aren't you the supposed "actress" in this lady-loving relationship? How come she got a paid acting job and you didn't?

Tom Ford To Do Womenswear?!

This is super exciting news!

We're catching wind that Tom Ford might dive back into the womenswear pool. The designer, who has worked for the likes of Gucci and Yves Saint Laurent, has been seriously missed in the world of women's fashion.

The talented Ford currently designs menswear, fragrance, and eyewear, all of which have enjoyed success, but he has yet to design women's clothing under his own label.

Until now, that is! Tom Ford International is looking for financing - $50 million to be exact - to start production on a womenswear line.

Of course, this is not the first time rumors of a Tom Ford women's line have swirled, but the fact that he is seeking money, and so much of it, adds a serious level of legitimacy.

A&F Continues Its Crusade Against Humanity

Abercrombie & Fitch doesn't take kindly to disabled people, apparently.

First, they lost a discrimination suit this past summer brought against them by a female employee in the UK who was harrassed and subsequently removed from the storefront once her prosthetic arm became apparent to her employers.

Abercrombie said that the cardigan she wore to cover her prosthesis violated the store's "look policy," and she was told to stay "in the stockroom until the winter uniform arrives."

Apparently, their intolerance is present on both sides of the pond.

The frayed cargo pant depot has been ordered to pay $115,264 by the Minnesota Department of Human Rights for discrimination against an autistic teen.

In 2005, employees of the Abercrombie & Fitch store in the Mall of America refused to let the sister of Molly Maxson, a fourteen-year-old girl with autism, accompany Molly in the dressing room while she changed. Molly's sister and mother tried to reason with the staff, explaining that Molly was autistic and could not be alone in the fitting room, but the staff would not relent, adamant that they must adhere to the company's stringent one-person-per-changing-room policy.

Along with the fine, the state ruled that Abercrombie must train its employees in how to accommodate customers with disabilities as well as post signs in its Minnesota stores expressing that exceptions may be made to the fitting room rule for qualifying circumstances.

Seems reasonable, right?

Well, Abercrombie & Fitch actually tried to appeal not only the fine, but the training and signs ruling too.

Fortunately, what they lack in compassion and contrition is matched by their lack of smarts: when attempting to appeal the ruling, A&F sent their petition for appeal via first-class mail. Thankfully, the Minnesota's Court of Appeals only accepts petitions sent by either certified mail or hand-delivery, and since A&F failed to comply with this basic procedure, the court threw out the case and dismissed the appeal on September 15th.

The Maxson's attorney, Ian Laurie, said "I think the family is glad that this is finally over. Now we can kind of move on."

Thank goodness the lawyers over at A&F aren't very sharp, or else the poor family would have to deal with this already drawn out suit even longer.

Lily Allen Confirms End Of Singing Career!

It was never her music we hated, it was her words and actions! And we're gonna get A LOT more of that now that Lily Allen is taking time off from music - indefinitely.

The singer has confirmed that she has no plans to tour anymore or record a follow-up to her latest album, It's Not Me, It's You.

"I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade," says the retired singer on her new anti-piracy blog. "The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I'm concerned, so I don't (at this point) stand to profit from legislation."

Illy is taking time off to star in the West End production of Neil Labute's Reasons To Be Pretty!

As terrible the notion that someone put her in a play, it may be a great casting decision. The lead female role in the show is Steph, a girl who is bat-shiz crazy!

But, she'll probably pull a Pivert!

Gisele's Beauty Takes Flight!

Not only is Gisele one of the 2nd most beautiful woman in the world(1st Heidi Klum), but now she soars above all else - literally!

Pregnant Gisele Bundchen is in the process of getting her pilot's license. The supermodel has recently been seen at the controls of several helicopters while training at the Marshfield Airport in Massachusetts.

And it ain't cheap!

She'll need 65 hours of flight time to get her license, costing about $225 per hour!

Movie Alert: Pirates 4 A Sinking Ship?

Though the movie is still in its pre-production stages, there could be some trouble ahead for getting the next Pirates of The Caribbean movie off the ground.

And that trouble's name is Johnny Depp.

Though he surprised a packed house at the Disney D23 expo last week in full Captain Jack Sparrow attire to promote the next film, the sudden departure of Disney chairman Dick Cook has the actor dismayed about the continuation of the project. This past weekend, he opened up to the LA Times about the move, saying that there is "a fissure, a crack in my enthusiasm at the moment."

Dick Cook was the reason Johnny had signed up for the Pirates projects from the beginning, and with him gone, and with new suits in place and the script only provisionally complete, Johnny's commitment to Pirates may falter out of loyalty to his friend.

No Johnny, no Jack, no movie.

Maybe that is a good thing.

The Los Angeles Times' "Hollywood Backlot" was able to visit the set of The Twilight Saga: New Moon and, lucky for us, they snapped some great behind-the-scenes shots.

As usual, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner were looking gorgeous!

As for Kristen Stewart, well, she managed to ruin a few shots.

The photos were taken on set a few minutes outside of Vancouver as the cast and crew shot scenes late at night until 4am at the Capitano Park Forest.

Kevin Plans His Bachelor Party!

After announcing that he was choosing both of his brothers, Joe and Nick Jonas, as his best men, what's on the agenda for Kevin Jonas' bachelor party?

Strippers and booze? Not for these nerds guys!

"It will be good, clean fun. We're going to have a good time with friends and family," says youngest JoBro, Nick.

Joe Jonas adds, "It won't be in Vegas. Vegas is not really the ideal place. We are thinking somewhere even cooler and better."

Apparently Kevin doesn't seem to trust his brothers and is trying to plan it all himself, but his younger siblings aren't having it.

"We're not going to let that happen," Joe says. "Nick and I are in charge and we have to remind Kevin that we'll take care of it."

Everyone is thrilled about welcoming their new sis and brother Nick is confident that Kevin and fiance Danielle Deleasa will have a "great, happy marriage."

But is there a Jonas baby in our midst? Not yet, according to Kevin: "It would be incredible to be a dad and raise a family. I hope to someday. But it won't be anytime soon."

That's a good attitude, you and Danielle are still so young yourselves!

The release date of Jay-Z's The Blueprint 3 has been bumped up!

The rapper's upcoming album, featuring Rihanna, Kanye West and Alicia Keys, just to name a few, will be available for sale on Tuesday, September 8th.

The album was originally scheduled to hit stores on September 11th - marking the 8 year anniversary of the release of 2001's The Blueprint.

Could the switch have to do with the entire album leaking onto the internet this week????

Turns out Miley Cyrus' Aussie fling that she met on the set of The Last Song may not have been single at the time!!!!!!

19-year-old, Laura Griffin, recently spoke out to Australian magazine, Woman's Day, about her heartbreak over losing her boyfriend, Liam Hemsworth, to Slutty.

"He was my boyfriend and my best friend. There is no other reason why we would have broken up," she says.

Between seeing photos of them kissing and Miley's Twitter updates ("I think I'll just sit around and eat sushi and watch Liar Liar with Liam."), it became apparent that Hemsworth and Griffin's five-year relationship was over.

We've been mentioning for a while now that Britney Spears' ex has started to balloon in weight. But this is seriously starting to get unhealthy!

The formerly fit backup dancer was spotted this weekend enjoying some time by the pool in Miami Beach with his girlfriend and two kids, Sean Preston and Jayden James.

But as soon as Federline got ready to jump in the pool, we think everyone was shocked to see what he's been hiding under his XXXL t-shirts.

And while taking breaks from playing in the pool, K-Fat enjoyed some time smoking a few cigs and having some drinks.

MTV Moving Away From Reality, Bringing Back Teen Wolf!

MTV's reinterpretation of the Michael J. Fox 80's classic, Teen Wolf, may be coming to the small screen sooner than later!

The network, which is finally hopping off the reality television train, will be producing a pilot based around the 1985 flick which tells the story of "a teenager who discovers he is a werewolf."

MTV Senior VP of series development Liz Gateley says MTV's take on Teen Wolf will have "a fresh take" on the Teen Wolf story and is "very different" from the original film.

"It has more of an American Werewolf in Paris feel to it. It's a dramatic thriller with two best friends in the center who provide a great comedy element: They are two very relatable characters on the outer circles of popular cliques," Gateley revealed.

The plaything comes with a doll and attachable pole and the box insists the product is "Interesting", can go "up and down" as well as "round and round". It even plays music! (Because what is a stripper without a tune to dance to?!)

Though the doll in the picture is fully clothed, we're sure it won't stay that way for long. Like the box also says, every stripper needs "style."

And by the way, dollar bills, mini beer bottles, and application for computer school is sold separately.

Whitney Port To Show At NYC Fashion Week

Whitney Port is showing her Whitney Eve collection at NYC Fashion Week on September 10th at 2:00pm.

Can't wait to catch a glimpse - of the hotness!!!

Her show will be flanked by Nicholas K and Mara Hoffman, who, like Port, are represented by People's Revolution PR firm.

People's Revolution is the subject of a new Bravo reality show, Kell on Earth, the premiere date of which is TBD. No word on how People's Rev and Whitney will balance their dual reality shows, since The City returns to the screen on September 29th.

Only time will tell!
